The objective of this department is to take steps in order to ensure the healthiness of public who lives within the municipality. This department engages in activities such as protecting people from communicable diseases, collect and dispose waste, protect the environment, inspire people for a healthy life style, and provide protection for mothers, who are in post confinement stage and children while conducting child and maternity clinics, maintain cemeteries and crematory, provide veterinary services and Ayurveda medical services.

Dispose and destroy waste which are collected from households and other places
Maintain the land which the waste is disposed in an appropriate way
Clean the common drains and streets
Obtain personal waste disposal services as per management need to standardize the waste disposal
Work collaboratively with public in the area, to recycle the solid waste
Examine the nutrition level of children from birth until 5 years
Immunization, , make aware on family planning and provide required services and health education
Conduct dental health services
Conduct prevention programs for communicable diseases
Conduct dengue, malaria and filarial quenching programs
Conduct programs for disable children
Provide glass of milk for pregnant mothers
Provide infant equipment for pregnant mothers in confinement
Conduct nutrition programs, oral health programs, mental health programs and “Suwanari” awareness clinic
Conduct programs under JICA(Japan International Cooperation Authority)
Conduct health awareness programs for school children
Identify diseases and direct them for treatments
Execute rules and regulations imposed on food health
Obtain formal and informal samples of food and refer them to government analyst
Supply and marketing of food
Inspect and raid places which supplying and selling foods under H8 format
Examine patients and provide treatments
Provide instructions and awareness on prevention of diseases
Act to obtain free medicine with the patronage of indigenous Ayurveda department at limited allocations
Take actions to prevent deadly disease rabies
Vaccination of domestic dogs
Provide birth control hormone and rabies vaccine for street dogs
Conduct sterilization surgeries to minimize the dog population
Examine animals daily at animal clinics, provide treatments, vaccinate and provide counseling services
